June Happy Five

Gosh, I look at the calendar and I’m still in shock that it is June 1st. It just means that Summer is around the corner. Although I don’t love the rising temperature that comes with Summer there is a lot to look forward to. For me when I think of Summer, I think of fresh food and lots of it, especially seafood. I also read a lot more in the Summer. It really is the season for it because there isn’t much new to watch on TV and I’m spending so much more time outside, like sitting on my patio in my egg chair. Summer also means being more efficient in the office so I can do all the fun Summer activities. So let me share with you my June Happy Five.

  1. Recipe I am making for meal prep
  2. Beauty product I am loving
  3. The latest book I read
  4. Something that Brings Me Joy
  5. An EA tip that can help you to be successful
Sriracha Shrimp Bowl

This recipe I found scrolling through on Pinterest was such a lucky find. It is so yummy, but I have to warn you that if you are sensitive to spicy food, be careful because this recipe is spice-ee. What I love about this recipe is that it is super easy to make, so if you have a busy weekend, it’s super fast to make for meal prep. It is also really good for a quick weeknight dinner after a long day.

Since I make this for meal prep, I cook at least 2 cups of rice in the rice cooker so I have it for the week.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream with SPF 30

Oh my gosh, this is my holy grail of skincare products. I absolutely love this product and stock up anytime it goes on sale. Sadly, it is expensive costing a whopping $140 for 50 ml but I’m telling you it is worth every penny.

What is it? Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream with SPF 30 firms, smooths and hydrates your skin. It is the ultimate 3-in-1 anti-wrinkle moisturizer that improves hydration and firmness whilst protecting the skin from sun exposure. Collagen is the key to unlock skin longevity, and ELEMIS is the collagen authority. For over 30 years, their products have been designed to support skin’s natural collagen production.

It is an anti-wrinkle moisturizer proven to significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while quenching skin with 24 hours of hydration. This amazing product provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Acting as the first line of defense against the sun’s harmful rays and UV-induced premature skin aging.

It is also formulated with powerful marine and plant actives, including moisture-boosting superhero algae Padina Pavonica, Chlorella and Ginkgo Biloba, to improve firmness and deliver instant hydration. Infused with rose and mimosa, for a delicate floral aroma that is a delight to the senses.

Why do I love it? I love that I can protect my skin from the sun without adding another layer of cream on my face. Especially since protecting my skin from the sun is critical to prevent aging skin and pigmentation. I mean I have worked so hard to remove years of sun exposure with painful lasers, I don’t want to reverse all that work. So, in the Summer when I’m outside more and the Sun is beaming so brightly it is especially important to wear SPF.

I also love how light weight it feels on my face. When the temperature starts rising during the Summer the last thing I want to wear is heavy skincare. I’m already uncomfortable in the heat. I don’t want to add to my discomfort with heavy skincare products. If these were not enough reasons to love this product, it is so smooth my make-up goes on flawlessly.

The President’s Daughter

Summer is such an amazing time to start your reading list. I love reading during this season because I sit outside a lot to enjoy the beautiful weather and reading is a great way to pass the time. If you are looking for a real page turner you need to pick up the President’s Daughter by James Patterson and President Clinton. No matter your politics, this book is really well written and with President Clinton’s contributions it is so realistic. I honestly couldn’t put the book down. I think I read it in less than a week. To be honest I’m stunned they haven’t made a movie or TV show based on this book. It is SO good!

Why do I love it? First the President’s Daughter was written with such detail, it felt like I was in the book. Second, with President Clinton’s contributions it provides a lot of specifics that help with the story’s realism. I love how the book has so many twists and turns, with a shock that comes in the middle that leaves you going “WTF”. I did not want this book to end and when it did, I wished there was a sequel. Hint, hint…

This Brings Me Joy and I Think it Will Bring You Joy Too

I think this has been my favorite purchase since I moved into my place. I was so glad I got a patio so I bought this Egg Chair so I can sit out there on my Egg Chair and enjoy a good book, cup of coffee or glass of wine. It is very deep so I can lean back and put my eggs up on my ottoman and relax. With it being so deep I can also sit up and sit cross legged which is also super comfortable. The chair cushions are not machine washable but it is super easy to clean using patio furniture cleaner.

The Egg Chair is easy to assemble and super light weight to move so you can clean and rearrange if needed.

What is also amazing about my Egg Chair is that Brutus Yorkie has his own version so he can sit outside with me.

EA Tip: Conversation Settings for your Email Inbox

Gosh, in the Summer the last thing anyone wants to do is stay inside to catch up on email. Or, sort through a billion emails after vacation. So, keeping your email inbox clean is important for efficiency and sanity, LOL. Here are some tips to keep your inbox clean using conversation settings. Conversation settings let you organize email threads into groups by subject so you can review the most recent email and archive or delete (your choice) the other emails because all the details of those emails are in the oldest email. Of course, you’ll want to review the emails that are out of sync to ensure you read the information. An example of when you want to read out of sync information is when you are coordinating plans and your attendees share their availability out of sync of the other attendees responses.

For Gmail

Go to the gear at the top right corner next to the question mark
At the bottom of Quick Settings click Conversation View under Email Threading
Click See All Settings
Scroll down to Conversation View
Click Conversation View On
Click Save Changes

For Outlook

Go to View Tab
Click Show as Conversations

I hope this helps you to feel less overwhelmed by your email inbox whether for personal or work.

I hope you try out any of my Happy Five suggestions. If you do, I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.

Until next time, have a joy filled day.
